IMPORTANT MESSAGE: due to unforeseen issues MFCU members will have to re-enroll into our home banking (avestarcu.com).  Please use your MFCU account number with 608 prefix as communicated previously for your account number, you will need to reset up email and security questions but should be able to use your previous username and password if you choose to keep them the same. Please keep in mind this will look different and ask different questions from your old account. You will have to go through the multi-factor authentication set up too.

*For security reasons, dollar limits wil be placed on transactions. Use your MFCU debit card through Thursday, November 30. Begin using your new Avestar debit card on Friday, December 1.
NOTE: All services on Friday, December 1will be phased in as they are available. We may experience some delays, so not everything will be available right when we open.


HOW TO PLAN AHEAD FOR YOUR ACCOUNT CHANGES

  • E-STATEMENT USERS

    Before November 29, download your previous months' MFCU statements if you need to, as the new Avestar system wil only store statements starting with your December 2023 statement.
  • ONLINE LOAN PAYMENTS - THROUGH OUR ONLINE MAKE-A-PAYMENT OPTION

    Online Banking will not be available after 4:30 pm on Wednesday, November 29. On or after that date, delete your MFCU app and download the Avestar Credit Union app from your app store.
  • BILL PAY USERS

    Before Thursday, November 29 you may send, schedule, and cancel payments in Bill Pay. Scheduled payments will be processed through November 29. As Avestar and MFCU are on the same vendor, payees and history will transfer over to your new Avestar account. On December 1, 2023, you wil be able to access Bill Pay by signing into your Avestar Home Banking Account. Note: Bill Payments sent as checks wil be deducted from your account when they print, not when they clear.

WHAT TO DO AFTER ACCOUNT CONVERSION

  • ACCOUNTS

    ACCOUNT NUMBERS - MEMBERS FIRST CREDIT UNION NUMBERS WILL BE CHANGING. All existing four-digit account numbers will add a 608 preceding your account number. As an example, account 1234, will now be 6081234. If your account number is three digits, it will add 6080. As an example, account 123, will now be 6080123. Our routing number will be changing to 275982144.
  • DIRECT DEPOSIT

    You will need to notify payroll and merchants of the change to your account number. Items will still be posted to your account, but there may be a delay.
  • CHECKS

    You may continue using your current MFCU checks until February 28, 2023. At that time, or when you deplete your current stock, you can contact us regarding replacement checks. Order new checks using your new Avestar account number and routing number: 275982144.
  • OVERDRAFT COURTESY PAY

    The current Overdraft Courtesy Pay program will be changing. New paperwork will need to be signed prior to continue utilizing this service. If you wish to add overdraft protection services from savings or Kwik Cash, contact us.
  • ONLINE & MOBILE BANKING

    Online Banking will not be available after 4:30 pm on Wednesday, November 29. On or after that date, delete your MFCU app and download the Avestar Credit Union app from your app store.

    Use your current MFCU home banking User ID and password to log in to the Avestar online and mobile banking. Please note that you may need to reenter your security question answers.

  • DEBIT CARDS

    Your MFCU debit card will be functional through November 30. For security reasons, purchase and withdrawal limits will be imposed.

    You will be mailed a new Avestar debit card (with a new number) in mid-November. Follow the activation instructions to select your PIN. Upon receipt, you may activate your new card, but CONTINUE OT USE YOUR MFCU DEBTI CARD THROUGH THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 30. BEGIN USING YOUR AVESTAR DEBIT CARD ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1.

  • ALERTS & BILL PAY

    ALERTS

    Current alerts ni MFCU home banking will NOT carry over to the new Avestar home banking. You may want to make a note of any that you have set up and you will be able to reset them up once you have logged into your Avestar Home Banking on or after Friday, December 1.

    BILL PAY

    Bill Pay is available through Wednesday, November 29 to send, schedule and cancel payments. Scheduled payments will be processed through November 29. Your payees and account history wil be available on Friday, December 1under your new Avestar home banking account.

  • PAYMENTS & TRANSFERS

    We recommend that you make note of al your current payments and transfers, then please review them after the account conversion for accuracy. fI you see discrepancies, please contact us. Your MFCU loans wil show as closed on your credit report and will be reposted as Avestar Credit Union. Continue to make loan payments as usual. This activity will not affect your credit score.

    Payments set up with your MFCU debit card will NED OT BE UPDATED with your new Avestar debit card number and expiration date.

    • Direct deposits, payments and transfers set up via ACH will NEED TO BE UPDATED.
    • Check-by-phone payments to loans will CONTINUE AS USUAL.
    • Payments in MFCUs' Bill Pay will continue through Avestar's Bill Pay.

  • STATEMENTS

    Your previous election of paper or electronic will resume with your December statements. fI you would like to get e-Statements ni the future, you can enroll through online banking.
